Artist Bio
I am a BFA student at FIU and a digital designer working to develop my skills in the field of Graphic Design. My foundation stems from my talents in sketching, but from a young age, I also focused on digital media, working on various projects and designs throughout my career.
I have always been drawn to illustrations and visually stimulating designs that engage the viewer while maintaining a level of simplicity. I believe that design should be accessible to the average viewer while conveying an underlying message that is clear and meaningful.
One artist I have admired since childhood is Jean-Michel Basquiat, a visual artist who produced over a thousand drawings, six hundred paintings, as well as sculptures and mixed media works that continue to stand the test of time. I have always been inspired by the visual energy of his work and the social commentary embedded in his pieces, which addressed pressing issues in U.S. society.
Currently, I am designing posters and conceptual ideas for a nonprofit organization in my DesignIsChange class at FIU.
Artist Statement
My design, “Keep Us Out!” highlights the impact of pollution on wildlife and the environment. Featuring a sad frog clinging to a plastic bottle, it symbolizes how litter harms aquatic ecosystems. The message reminds people that storm drains are not trash cans what enters them flows into rivers and oceans, endangering wildlife. Placed near storm drains, this simple design encourages responsible waste disposal to protect our waterways and communities. It’s a call to action: change starts with us
