As FIU graphic design students were tasked to make a proposal for a public art project aimed at raising awareness about pollution in storm drains and its impact on our oceans
When it came to creating the design for this project, I believed that a strong yet very simple message was need for making this project. A simple and effective design that can have the viewer immediately understand the situation.
The idea of rain going down the drain had influenced me, then the protection of our oceans. I had thought of the representation of the drainage being above the sea life.
The representation of the Sealife had different animals that I had considered for the design. I had thought of choosing between a sea turtle, a manatee, and a fish to represent Sealife in the design
I had chosen two items to represent the garbage that is being thrown into our oceans, I ultimately had decided on chosen a plastic bottle and the butt of a cigarette
