Cyndi Ayon
Artist Bio
I am a Graphic Design student on the BFA track at Florida International University. My creative practice is rooted in curiosity and driven by a genuine desire to connect. Currently, I work as the Marketing and Communications Assistant at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, where I bring my passion for visual storytelling to both professional and personal projects.
I am actively exploring themes of identity, connection, and transformation through design. Whether working in digital media—such as branding, web, or motion—or with printed and tactile materials, I choose each medium intentionally to best serve the message. I believe design is a visual language that can express what words often cannot.
With a thoughtful approach to form, rhythm, and emotion, I strive to create visuals that are not only beautiful but also personal and enduring. My goal is to produce work that resonates, invites reflection, and sparks meaningful connection.
Artist Statement
This stencil shows an octopus emerging from a storm drain, collecting litter like a soda can and plastic bag. The phrase “Sea Life, not Sea Litter” highlights how pollution forces marine animals to live among waste, threatening biodiversity and ocean health. The
design calls attention to the urgent need for cleaner waterways and responsible waste disposal.
