Kerin Lynch
Artist Bio
I fell in love with creating art as a child—starting with simple sketches after school—which has grown into a lifelong passion. I currently reside in Miami but am originally from Sarasota, Florida. Coming from a small, sleepy beach town and now living in a large, bustling city, I often reflect on my past when feeling homesick, and this sentiment is reflected in my work.
I am pursuing a major in Graphic Design at Florida International University and primarily work digitally. I create my digital pieces using Procreate and Adobe Creative Suite, appreciating the flexibility and adaptability these tools offer when bringing my ideas to life. Through this medium, I continue to evolve and explore new artistic possibilities.
Artist Statement
My work highlights how pollution from single-use plastics in storm drains
degrades our recycled drinking water. Arrows symbolize this harmful cycle,
while the exclamation mark, dead fish, and wave imagery represent polluted
water. The design reminds us that what enters storm drains affects marine
life and ultimately impacts us.
