My work represents the current reality of our water supply- that pollution, often caused by “single-use” plastics getting caught in access areas such as storm drains, is degrading our drinking water. Unlike these plastics-water isn’t single-use- and this resource is recycled, therefore repeatedly exposing people to pollutants and microplastics. This cycle is represented by the arrows framing the image, with the polluted water being represented by the exclamation mark, dead fish, and waves. This concept serves as a reminder that what we put in our storm drains, ends up in the local marine life, and eventually ourselves.
