Indra Alam and Alba de La Paz from the City of Miami’s Art in Public Places program, alongside
Dr. Timothy Ostemberg from the City’s Resilience team, delivered guest lectures to Florida International University (FIU) Design and Art students. The presentation, hosted within a digital arts graphic design class (GRA4818 AS115), offered insights into the intersection of public art, urban planning, and community resilience. The sessions were followed by an in-depth lecture by Dr. Silvia Pease, further expanding on themes of design and civic engagement. Following the lectures, students began the initial phases of research and development, generating three conceptual proposals in response to the themes presented.
