Statement: Unfortunately many people litter in Florida. I have recently learned it also
affects our drain systems. This issue is truly important to me as I see how it affects water quality andaquatic/river life. In relation to seeing how this littering can affect our water systems I wanted to implement an item that is associated with trash: so I used a plastic cup. With plastic cups it contains a material that is not beneficial to the environment(it is a crushed cup showing how it is heavily messing with our water drain systems to an intense level). With the Slogan in english it contains the words : If you litter we drink critters. Critters can range from bugs to animals so I used critters that resemble dirtiness such as rats, flies and a roach. Stencils have a dirty rustic nature to it as well so the theme ties to that. When it came to translating the slogan in Spanish and Haitian Creole there was a language barrier so I made it say if you trash the ground the water will be dirty. The image of the cup pouring out critters can show how it affects drinking water in a symbolic way since these tie to our drain water systems. I created these stencils through sketching on procreate then drawing over it in illustrator
