My name is Carlos Garcia. I’m a BFA student in Graphic Design with an interest in Art History. First and foremost, I’m an artist. With this comes the role of problem-solver, illustrator, designer, and visual developer. I am multicultural, having been born in Venezuela and sharing both Chilean and Uruguayan roots. Living in South Florida, my Latino heritage has always been an essential part of who I am, as well as an important asset for engaging in my local community. I am also a citizen designer, being concerned with social progress and the ways in which we work for our community.

Statement
I believe in urgency, that what’s happening is real, and is happening right now. There is a very real danger looming over our heads if we keep neglecting our environment. What we decide to do next as a community will decide the future of our planet.
My design concept aims to convey a sense of urgency by using a dynamic “pseudo-Futurist” style through both bold typography and strong angularity. The phrase “Our Waters, Our Lives” rides the jagged, choppy waves of a storm surge as they float through a city engulfed in a flood of polluted waters.
